1) To express their unique view of christianity which is something that most of us can't hear or see often in daily interaction with Christians. 2) To understand the atheism for themselves or to make friends with the atheists. 3) To learn more about the ways to defend their theist beliefs and attack the common "doubts" and "misunderstandings" of their religions. ![]() 4) To derail threads and to disrupt our normal discussions, perhaps by doing so, some of them truly believe that they are doing a great deed for their God and beliefs. (Well, you guys know who are the ones ![]() ![]() 5) To attack certain opinions of the atheism which they believe is totally or largely wrong. 6) To spend (or waste) their time here with nothing important to do at home. 7) To learn more about science, history, etc so as to help in or further their missionary or daily tasks and conversions in the future. Last but not least, the feeling of superiority and righteousness when arguing with the "minions of Satan, Greed and Ignorance". ( Flame Deleted ) ![]() ![]() |

Hi HLKern, Welcome to the boards. ![]() I have seen a few that this was thier motive, mainly Christians and Muslims. But we have tons of smart people here, so unless they can talk about proof, any holes get identifyed pretty fast. If that is thier goal, they can find alot more converts other places. Most people here, have thier views pretty well thought out. |

I maintain a website for my church. The Pastor of my church is pretty awesome and I record and post his sermons there in MP3 format. Here is the website: http://www.mtnvineyard.org/ Here is the subpage that has the sermons: http://www.mtnvineyard.org/Sermons.htm If you are seeking, listen to the sermon recorded last Sunday July 4, 2004. The file is 9 MB and lasts about 45 minutes. Let me know what you think. I am in teh processof converting old audio tapes into MP3s, but there are 20-25 sermons already posted. Whether you determine Christainity is valid or invalid, he is an awe inspiring person to listen to because he is down to earth, admits his flaws, relates well to everyone,... |
