The kind of phrasing above reads exactly like Biblical archaeological stories where the most ridiculous conclusions are extropolated from the most banal discoveries.

"A brick recently discovered on the Temple mount could be from Solomon's Temple and [insert amateur Christian "archaeologist's" name here] believes it provides compelling evidence that the Bible is based on historical fact!"

It looks like the second paragraph is about as far as one should go. Anything else is just inappropriate wild speculation.

Yes, we have dating for an accurate understanding of Rome's foundation, or at least the earliest yet signs of civilisation there. Almost like sure, there were non-native Egyptians who were expulled from Egypt, but make that conclusive proof of the parting of the Red Sea and you've jumped from logical thetan to an acephalic crack monkey.

For what it's worth, if you ignore the silly "Romulus and Remus" speculations, I do think it's a very nice find. Roman origins are still somewhat mysterious and this may help to figure some things out.
