It strikes me as incredible that no one in this thread has any concerns about the penis.
Since there is no marriage in heaven, and plenty of healing waters, and apparently some women at least will find themselves in the company of seven or more ex-husbands, why isn't anyone interested in the potential happy times possible up there, where even procreation has been perhaps suspended, and true Godly hedonism may comence? Will viagra-trees be plentiful? Nor have you taken seriously some rather obvious problems inherent in retaining one's scars.... Take the pornstar Jeremy Irons for instance (granting him the dubious benefit of the doubt of entry: "he who would rule must service all" etc.). The last time I saw Jeremy's grotesque manhood in a video, it was obvious that his willie was displaying large multiple scars from gential warts, burned off no doubt at the specialist's office. Just as Jesus' scars will be carried as a badge of honour, clearly Jeremy's scars will be transparent as a detailed history of far lesser and more dubious 'honours'. Jeremy will have to wander in eternal humility and shame, because his resurrected roger will forever advertise in rainbow colors his previous forgiven but not forgotten history. If statistics are reliable, about 60% of Western Christian males will be unable to forget Jeremy either. |

Of course this isn't my area of expertise.
Can you give an expert opinion here? We don't want to mislead anyone. edit: A quick google has confirmed your observation...I clearly must have meant 'Ron Jeremy'. Most Christian men will be familiar with the headshot of him here: This is only a link page to his film work, but may contain adult advertisements and links in margins. Well, for what it is worth, the Bible does claim lots of resurrected people, not just Jesus. And the consensus is that all of these resurrections (in this world) were not of the same nature as the divine/future/eternal resurrection.
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Lazarus presumably died again. Jesus raised a widow's son at his funeral. Presumably, this son died again. Also raised a little girl. This girl probably looked still like a little girl when she was raised, then grew up, got married, had children, then died again. Elijah raised some boy from the dead. I imagine that boy also grew up, lived a while, and died again. So granted, I see where you're going with the consistency thing (I have this image of if a suicide bomber somehow got into heaven. That is a gory thought for eternity.) But I think one can safely argue that all the resurrections in this world are of a categorically different kind than those of the final day. So if there are all these categories of resurrected bodies, could Jesus have had his own category? Christians do tend to put him in a category of his own in lots of other ways, after all. |
