Well, "I" don't know why "they" hate "you", but "they" hate "me" because "they" are jealous of "my" sexual magnetism and exceptionally large penis.

Sorry my question wasn't more specific.

Some would say they attacked us because of our support for Israel. What do you think ?

I think that specific act was because we have troops in Saudi Arabia. Apparently bin Laden is very offended that there are non-Muslim soldiers in the same country as Mecca and Medina, Islam's two holiest sites. Their other really holy site is Jerusalem, also occupied by infidels. So our support for Israel was a secondary reason for the 9/11/01 attacks (IMHO), but one of the primary reasons many Muslim extremists hate the US.

Note to self: when founding a new religion, do not pick any holy sites that are already holy to two other world religions.

The "hate us for our freedom" is sort of true. One thing that offends Muslims about American troops in Saudi is that the US has woman soldiers who have their faces exposed, wear pants, drive vehicles, and carry guns. They may also think the US is controlling the Saudi government. Personally I think it's the other way around.

IMO the muslim people are pretty nice, they are just misguided. i was anti-war and incredibly suspicious of jews. after reading steadily i have come to learn a few things.

1. israel is in great danger as it is surrounded by despots.
2. my country canada is already lost leaving only america and israel as free countries.
3. free people shoud unite and cast down volleys of fire and lightning on the despots of this world.
4. the time to seperate heads from shoulders draws near and we need to ready ourselves.

For that matter, there are a hell of a lot of muslims that would *NOT* have driven airplanes into tall buildings if given the chance. And a lot of christians that wouldn't have bombed the same building, given the chance. Don't equate a religion with it's followers.

Israel also seems to be a great danger to the despots surrounding it. Not that Israel shouldn't defend itself from blatant attacks and the action of palestinian terrorists, but I think that welding armor plating onto bulldozers and using them to knock down civillian palestinian houses while they're occupied goes a little beyond legitimate defense, or even legitimate war! Moreover, they're doing it with bulldozers that the US gave them. The palestinians have done many equally horrid things on their side as well... This conflict is hardly the good-vs-evil thing many people have equated it to.

What exactly are you referring to? And just because our legitimately elected government has made decisions you don't agree with, it's "lost"?

This often how dictators are born, York... nobody wakes up with a burning urge to enslave the free world. A patriot sees that things have lost their way and attempts to institute violent change with himself as the leader, since he's the only one who really understands. A revolutionary often needs to trade idealism for prudence in the short term, but once it's gone it never comes back. Think carefully, lest you resemble that which you despise.

How many of your enemies are saying the same thing? Destroy all the people you feel justified in destroying, and when the dust settles you will suddenly find a lot more. This is a HUMAN problem, not a muslim one - you will NEVER run out of people that deserve killing, and neither will they. We're all human beings in the end, no matter how wrong we are, and everyone's just as certain they're right as we are.

I don't think we should play that game anymore.

Agreed. Something needs to be done, but I don't think jingoistic all-out violence is the solution; that's been tried many, many times before.

Is it because the US supports Israel ?

Or is it because we are a free republic and cherish freedom ?

Thoughts ?
They will indeed hate us sooooo much if we will keep asking this question in EoG.

But seriously, they don't hate US. Remember.... your the only one who asked, right?

thx for the link Corona688. i think talking is a waste of time and will lead to the demise of the free world. you cant reason with people who follow despots like arafat. the terrorists play dirty and as far as i am concerned you must fight fire with fire. crush kill and destroy the monsters and anyone silly enough to support them.

the states should have attacked iran first, the younger generation there is coming around and know what freedom is about. iran could have been a shinning example. purification by fire is the best solution here. thats my opinion.

north korea is just asking to be bombed to bits too. they are liars, claiming the nuclear research was for energy shortages but have made WMD. i would give them a light show they would not soon forget if i were running the show.

Allow me to paraphrase:

Not that I agree with either, but hopefully you get my message. Anyway...

And when the dust settles, those that survive of this younger generation will have seen their homes blasted to bits by US missles. Freedom and democracy somehow don't seem to have the same luster to them when a free democracy has blown your home and country to freaking bits.

That, and when the US does bomb a country to bits, it doesn't seem too inclined to set up democracies in them. What's the election process look like in Afghanistan these days?

Which would accomplish what exactly, except for possibly turning a great deal of space into nuclear wasteland and killing a great many innocent people?
