The NT has been described as "the mutilated bible" since it does not include the host of other "early christian literature" commonly called the NT apochrypha, in which there are manifold references to the appearance of Jesus. In fact he appears, according to all of the mainstream academic commentators on the planet, in the Nag Hammadi tractate 6.1, "The Acts of Peter and the Twelve Apostles" cleverly disguised as the Hellenic priest of Asclepius, Lithargoel, the man who knew the Road to the "City of Nine Gates" in which the pilgrim would find the pearl of Great Price. But then you dont really want to hear about the other appearances, such as the appearance of Jesus in the beginning of the Acts of Thomas, written by the son of the devil Leutius Charinus (I think Arius of Alexandria) where Jesus appears as a slave master, and sells Thomas at the local market. Best wishes, Pete |

That's pretty much what I've concluded too. Paul is saying he was the last to be chosen to receive appearances, such appearances continuing for him (as in 2 Cor 12:1-4). Kris |
