Didn't know that about the bans. What's the difference, if it's okay to post here? Why did the ex-mods who post here get de-mod-ed?

How many posts till this thread gets shut down? I give 126.

"Post slutting" was originally used to denote people trying to increase their post count byt posting nonsense or single words, now it means any "chat room" type content-free word banter like "What's up", "Nothing what's up with you" kinda thing.

I left CF because every time I would go back after one of my breaks, the same conversations were taking place. I just got sick of their moderators, their rambling off topic threads, the same ole discussions :: shrug::

I am happy to interact with all of you here at II, I really wish you would participate in some of the other forums.

She (I hope that's correct, LadyShea, you never know...) has a good point you know. There seem to be plenty of Christian regulars who are quite comfortable participating in most of the forums here.
Just an observation.

Actually, there is real training. PMs with detailed instructions on how to use features, posted guidelines, lots of stuff. It's actually pretty useful. I'm also being encouraged to talk with existing staff about policies, discuss decisions, and so on.

Just for the record, I didn't find the "joke" about Wols and Bear to be particularly funny. I may not agree with either of them very often, but they're among the more consistently decent people I know, and the hostile implications aren't really especially appropriate.

Anyway, training proceeds apace. I'm sorta happy to get a bit of time during which I watch other people do things, and there's real work going into the process. We shall see. I'm enjoying it, anyway, and I feel like I'm usefully contributing to decision-making processes.

Some day, I'd love to get a feel for the scope of trolling and abuse problems at IIDB, to figure out how different the workloads are.

They didn't have the training period for mods when I started over there either. Maybe I wouldn't have screwed up and banned Smilin had I had some training.

EJ, no I wasn't being serious about the "hiding the sausage" comment. I actually thought The Bear was a good, honest mod, if my memory serves me correctly.
