Default Bible contridictions in a court of law

Hello
I thought it would be interesting to discuss this.
When it comes to Bible contridictions apologetics will always find away around them.
But I think you can do that with a lot of things.
Just to prove that I'll say something and then say the same story different' I want to see if some clever so and so can find a way around it.

A man was accused of a crime' when asked what he did that day one of his flatmates said he woke up at 8.00. He went to work at 8.30 to start at 9.00
He met one of his freinds at 8.17.

A man was accused of a crime' when asked what he did that day the other flatmate said he woke up at 7.30. He went to work at 8.00 to start at 8.30.
He met one of his freinds at 7.48.

It would be interesting to see what people can come up with to get around the contridictions.
Although possibly if you were on a jury you would think although they could be telling the truth' I think it's more likely one or both are lying or mistaken.
So when looking at Bible contridictions possibly we should do the same.
Think would I accept that answer if I were on a jury.
The probelm is though it may depend from person to person.
Some may believe it some may not.
And maybe it's hard to tell how likely a story is.
Possibly if you knew someone was very honest you would be more likely to believe them.

FWIW in this case I would suspect that the two witnesses were using different methods of determining the time. Methods consistently giving results differing by 1/2 an hour.

Well the question in everyone's mind is where to start. So perhaps it is better to narrow the question a little. When you say bible we all know it has two parts. Are you interested in the history of the old bit or the new bit?

If the new testament then the gospels look like someone wanted to write up and forge something resembling the independent testimony of four eye-witness acounts to the life of "clerk jesus kent" that would stand up in a ROman court of law in either the second, third or fourth centuries. I think that most ancient historians do not consider that these four gospels were actually written by people called M,M,L & J in the first century. We are looking at something approaching an at least second century fabrication of literature.

How about that for a starter?
Best wishes,

Pete

That’s easy. Using standard apologetic techniques, we conflate (mash together) the two accounts, making up duplicate events/actions and ignoring physical reality or normal behavior as needed:

The man (we could always say they were two different men, even if they have the same name, but in this case I’ll skip that) woke up at 7:30. He then got ready until 7:50 and decided he needed a little powernap, napping until 8 when he got up and went to work, mentioning two projects he intended to do. He turned around because he forgot something, finally leaving just before 8:30 and starting project #1 immediately (perhaps even in the car thinking it through). Then at 9 he started the other project.

Meeting friends can be thrown in as often as one likes at whatever times one likes, since he can meet different people or even the same person as often as needed.

Silly? Sure – that’s exactly what it is.

Chris
I suppose you could say from what I,ve written that it is about 2 different people.
But say that I am talking about the same person.

He could have woke up at 7.30 relised he woke up to early.
He wanted to go back to sleep till 8 but then remembered he had to meet his freind at 7.48.
He met his freind breifly then went back to bed for a few minutes till 8.
Then got muddled up and though he was going to be late and left that minute at 8 to get to work at 8.30.
He then met his freind at 8.17 and relised he didn't have to go to work till 9.
So he went back home again and left at 8.30 to go to work at 9.

Think I,ve done it but I dought anyone would beleive you if you said that.
I'm not to sure if any apologetics have used explinations for possible Bible contridictions quite that extreame though.
