welll sauron.... if as you say, ezekiel was treated shabbily in Babylon then I guess my argument #! fails, and all the rest must certainly as well.... good show! bully bully!
The hebrew scribes and scholars must surely also agree. strange deranged man that ezekeil!

1. I did not say that. Not at all. Nor would I ever say that Ezekiel was treated shabbily. Why not?

2. Because you have just set up a false dichotomy: either
(a) I agree with you that Ezekiel was treated well, or
(b) then by process of elimination, he must have been treated shabbily

You have forgot at least one other option:
(c) there is insufficient specific evidence about Ezekiel to prove an affirmative claim either way

The false dichotomy is an elementary logic mistake. Again I ask: are you *sure* you were a National Debate Champ?

No, your argument failed due to the poor way you constructed it, Mr. Debate Champ.

1. You failed to support it with direct evidence of the specific affirmative claim you made; and

2. an affirmative claim cannot rest on ambiguous data, which is all you have regarding Ezekiel's treatment in Babylon; "affirmative" is not consistent with "ambiguous"

Not necessarily. The hebrew scribes weren't putting together historical research documents; they were chronicling the national myth-tales of the Hebrews and giving them a cause to cling to, during the diaspora.
