An excellent modern Bible without conservative-biased translation that includes the Maccabbees (and the rest of what is normally termed Apocrypha except for the Esdras books) is the New Jerusalem Bible. (YHWH is translated Yahweh throughout, there is no nonsense about "virgin" in Isaiah 7:14, etc.) Catholic in origin, but high quality and theologically neutral as far as I've been able to detect.

As far as I can see the principle value of your group is to publicise and promote the presence of thinking atheists in Colorado! Good luck with the project. And report back here, willya?

Not a bad choice, but the New Oxford Annotated Bible, which the OP has ordered, is also a good choice. It is being used in classrooms as an assigned textbook, and it, in fact, is one of my personal favorite English bibles for scholarly work (though, of course, a critical text of the Bible in the original languages is more important).

Atheist-led Bible Study Group, or Bible Study Group for Atheists sounds great.

Atheist Bible study group sounds daft. (It's not an 'atheist bible' and there's no reason why it should be important for atheists to read the bible over any other scripture.)
