			If the Bible is inerrant, then God must have been serious steering the agenda at the 3rd council at carthage where the new testament canon was solidified. 
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
	Does anyone know what else was decided at that meeting? The only references I can find are for the decision on the canon. Does anyone still have the minutes for that meeting?  |

			What I'd really like to see is some wacky decree that xians today would find primitive, superstitious or seriously roman catholic.  It would be interesting to point out that the inspiration that went into what is arguably the 2nd biggest miracle of all time also inspired garbage. Though if all your interested in is whacky ancient Canons, I'm sure this whole work is quite full of them. for example in just randomly clicking on Canons, I came up with these from the Synod of Laodicea in 364. Canon XXXVIII. It is not lawful to receive unleavened bread from the Jews, nor to be partakers of their impiety. and Canon XXXVI. They who are of the priesthood, or of the clergy, shall not be magicians, enchanters, mathematicians, or astrologers; nor shall they make what are called amulets, which are chains for their own souls. And those who wear such, we command to be cast out of the Church.  |

	1. If anyone in sickness has undergone surgery at the hands of physicians or has been castrated by barbarians, let him remain among the clergy. But if anyone in good health has castrated himself, if he is enrolled among the clergy he should be suspended, and in future no such man should be promoted. But, as it is evident that this refers to those who are responsible for the condition and presume to castrate themselves, so too if any have been made eunuchs by barbarians or by their masters, but have been found worthy, the canon admits such men to the clergy. Nicea 325, Canon XX : 20. Since there are some who kneel on Sunday and during the season of Pentecost, this holy synod decrees that, so that the same observances may be maintained in every diocese, one should offer one's prayers to the Lord standing.  |
