Routing numbers are generally easily distinguishable from account numbers to the trained eye. As long as a person takes a look at it, they can easily tell that you accidentally put the routing number on along with the account number.

(I can also tell you, just for your amusement, that if you bank locally, your routing number probably begins with "123" and if you have a local credit union, your routing number probably begins with "323".)
