Those Rs in that configuration break my tongue.

I can never pronounce things like do not or it is or they are, especially if it's in the form of dialogue, without contracting it to don't or it's or they're. It seems kind of stilted — and it always sounds that way, saying it aloud — to say, e.g., "They must know what they are talking about."

For me, it's redivicism, recividism, revidicism... Aw screw it, I can't even write the damn word, much less pronounce it! You know, it's like when "reformed" prisoners are released and then commit crimes again. You know...

Another word I have problems with is misanthrope. How the hell are you supposed to pronounce it? I don't think I've ever heard it said, but there's times I wanted to say it in conversation, but was too unsure of the pronunciation.

No, that's right.

I can't say the word "virulent" for some reason. Fortunately, there's rarely a call to, and when there is the pronunication of the word, I suspect, would be the least of my concerns.

Incidentally, I'd say the most often mispronounced word is "historic." It is not pronounced "is-TORE-ick," whether or not there's an indefinite article in front of it. I drive people crazy by insisting on saying the phrase as "a historic occasion."

There's quite a few, actually.

I have trouble with "particularly," and I don't know why.
Worcestershire sauce. What the hell.

Just recently I've had problems with abomination. It's a good thing I'm not gay or ordering shellfish or the like...

I just have to pronounce 'innovative' with the stress on the second syllable instead of the first.

Up until a few years ago, I couldn't pronounce the word "variety." It always came out as something like "va-rariety." Another word I couldn't pronounce was, oddly enough, "pronunciation." I said it like "pronounce-iation."
