So what is a plausible explanation for the 3 dimensional object to be imprinted on the cloth as a 2 dimensional projection?

The Ressurrection causes a deceased body to radiate vast amounts of Q-rays, a form of radiation heretofore unknown to science, which have the effect of causing discolouration in pale fabrics. They also have the unusual side-effect of causing certain types of object to merge, which clearly explains why the Shroud is only one cloth instead of the seperate shroud and headcloth described in the Gospels.

Could you explain how this would explain anything? Seems like an appeal to the unknown to me. Don't spare the details (the mechanism involved) and possible ways of testing this "transformation" hypothesis.
