That's easy. It's 'cuz "Crucifixation" is a medical term used to describe a symdrome found commonly amongst Catholics.....

I think the traditional English spelling outside the US is "connexion" rather than connection.

I believe I'd seen that, yes. I really must travel more (but that's another matter, entirely).
