The rabbis had plenty imagination. There are also the stories about giants surviving the flood missing details from the arguments between Cain and Abel, many others.

I think I might have figured it out!Could they be measureing in months instead of years?If so by our counting,Noah would have died at about 80,and right now in their terms Id be 698!Im sure their months didnt exactly correspond to ours,but measured moon cycles would have to make it close.
