So why do Christians get in such a tizzy over abortion, then - since that is legal and also does not fall under the category of "murder" in the same way that executions do not?

To make a shot at answering the OP:

If you believe in God, then whatever God wants, God gets. Even if He violates the very rules that He set down, even if He contradicts Himself over and over again, even if He orders genocide of commits it Himself...it's all okay. 'Cause He's God.

According to the Bible, Jesus HAD to die...he HAD to be executed...to become a martyr. If he had died of sickness, accident, or old age, he would never have had the dramatic impact that he did. People love martyrs...Abrahamic religions in particular.

So much so that there is often a lemming-like rush to be one.
