This is a RARE place on the net. You can get the text here.

You can also download for free an astronomy program to check the references which can be fun from "SKYMAP". They have a demonstration version you can use for 15 "times" (vs just 15 days) and it is good enough to chart lunar and planetary positions in the ancient past and everything in the VAT4956. It's my favorite astronomy program.

Enjoy!

Larsguys link is very hard to read these below are much better

here's the Abraham Sachs & Prof. Hermann Hunger transcription and translation, with photos of the tablet, though these photos are missing the photo of the bottom edge which has text as well.
http://mordochai.tripod.com/vat4956.html#top

For another image of the tablet including the bottom edge text

The P. V. Neugebauer & E. Weidner translation, Larsguy mentions is in German.

Just a quicky.

From Larsguy47:

This is presented separately from the historical implication of the double dating in the VAT4956 since some might like to understand this and discuss it as an isolated issue. The simplest way though to explain it is to tell HOW and WHY:
Lars, how often do I have to tell you: the VAT4956 Club doesn't permit double dating. It's a singles and couples-only place. It's not an isolated issue at all. It's a reflection of the policy of all the best clubs in Athens and Persepolis.

Socrates and Aristotle and Plato and Xenophone got kicked out last week. Good thing since Ari was underage anyway.

The HOW and WHY involves some very big security guards.

RED DAVE, don't you think it's just a "little bit srange" that David Rohl comes up with the 12th year assignment of the KTU 1.78 text which if you apply that to 1375BCE you get 1386BCE for the 1st of Akhenaten?

And don't think it a bit strange everybody is pretending they can't figure out when the Exodus occurred when there's a reference in Manetho that would specifically date it to the 1st of Akhenaten?

And don't you think it's a bit strange that Kathleen Kenyon would date the fall of Jericho in 1350-1325BCE and thus the Exodus c. 1390-1365BCE and no one figured out that would push Solomon's reign down substantially, his first year not earlier than 914 BCE and that's is precisely when the palaces were built.

MY POSITION IS NOT NEW, RD. Martin Anstey in the 1800's wrote "The Romance of Biblical Chronology" and concluded way back then the Persian Period was 82 years off. My research simply identified those years and corrects back to the original timeline, with the help of evidence in astronomical texts (i.e. VAT4956) of the original chronology.

It's intersting since I'm sure had there been ZERO relevant evidence of the original chronology someone would have been saying, "Geez, I would think that if they changed the chronology there should be something of the original chronology in some text, some where." Well, here it is, right in the VAT4956 and most people can't accept it or understand it. It's annoying to some, I guess, there is actually now NO CHOICE in the matter.

I guess you're going to try and investigate this yourself. But I assure you, the more you learn hands-on the closer you are going to coming to understanding and accepting the inevitability of correcting the timeline back to the Biblical timeline.

Larsguy48 was a "typo".

Yes, I think it's very strange. On the other hand, I haven't recovered from my wife messing up my birthday. (See #8 above.)

Yes, I think it's very strange. I'm taking my vacation in the Negev this year to look for the latrines that the 1/2/3 million Hebrews dug. (No shit. Or, rather, lots of shit.)

Yes, I think it's very strange. When I was dating Kathy in the 80s (before I met my current wife), she told me that when Jericho fell he broke his knee and it cost $1250-$1225 to have it set. Was she lying?

Yes, I think it's very strange. When I took Archeo 101 with Marty, he told me that me that he was only 75, so it's a shock to find out he was 82. I guess he was a little "off," and you figured it out.

Last time I was hanging out in the VAT4956 Club they were changing the chronology all the time. I never knew when they opened. Kathy was pissed off.

I had to get very close to Kathy before she would let me get hands-on.

Yeah, right, and spelling Xerxes Artaxerxes was a 'typo."

That's for the general members, if you're a Gold or Siver member, there's a "back room" where they bend over the rules a bit more, if you get my drft!

Did they bend you over and give you the drift in the "back room"?

You have misused the c14 data from Tel Rehov. You blunder on there. You've said a lot of very silly things trying to turn the Daniel "Darius the Mede" stuff into history by abusing Ezra and every other indication avaibale on the subject. And you do not respond on these matters, though you stumble on in your error.

Not that I particularly want to find a copy, but if you want some response to your murky efforts, a copy would be useful. Now that I've got one I might be able to comment in a bit.
