If the Gospels describe the metaphysics of a divine comedy that ends with the words of Jesus "it is finished" how can Hope remain as the favorite discipline? I mean, if you know where you are going there is nothing to hope for and thus hope should not be part of the gnostic Gospel and is virtually eliminated already in Luke.
Hope is good if you do not know what you are doing or if you don't know where you are going but if your boat is your float it better be Just before you set sail and leave Hope behind as a liability. Hope was indeed a gift from the Magi that replaced power in the old world but in the New world power is transformed through understanding that ends in omniscience when all doubt is removed as in Thomas' exclamation "my Lord and my God" (which doesn't say much for James being a brother of the Lord). The Gospel of John is a simple tour the fource that ends with Mary theotokos (Virgilia), Mary the source of wisdom (Volumina), and Mary the titilator (Valeria), at the foot of the cross whereupon the imposter was crucified and here now admits and John [Christus] is Lord because he was a bosom buddy of Jesus who was born from the netherworld that contained the water that Jesus needed to learn and walk on. |
