Actually, the concept arose pretty much organically. We were having some boring meeting, probably a project status thing, and it drifted off into the mission-critical topic of underwear, as so many project status meetings do. You know, style, color, stuff like that. At some point, someone illustrated an important point. "No. THIS kind of waistband," or something like that, and, that precedent set, everyone followed suit. The club concept arose fairly naturally out of that. I don't remember specific details, but based on empirical data, I was probably responsible for making it official. I'm a real pillar of my professional community that way.

And, oddly enough, I think everyone wore underwear every day. It makes some sense, though. Because when you're in the Underwear Club, you know you can be called upon to produce your underwear at any time.
