You know, the first thing I thought of when I saw this in my RSS feed was "Ron Wyatt" - I didn't even need to go to the links to see that this delusional fraud was the source of this. Nevermind that the archaeological evidence of any Isrealites being in Egypt around the supposed date of the Exodus is nil, nevermind that there is absolutely no record of anything similar to the tales in the literally thousands of papyrii and monuments, nevermind that there is no record of any Pharoah dying in combat that way....why, if a hack pseudoarchaeologist says that a wheel off a boat is a chariot wheel, well, that proves it. I suppose the links also go to the supposed "monuments" as well?
It's been a few years, but there was a guy here who supposedly was working with Wyatt's widow and the "foundation" (or whatever it was called) and he was going to publish some startling stuff on all that, and even Noah's Ark - can't forget about that. I wonder what ever happened to all that proof. Surely it's ready now. Actually, to go one further, GenesisNemesis, Wyatt even produced "evidence" that convinced many Christians that he was a charlatan - for those without the background, look here at IIDB, as well as the web to find many interesting bits about our good deceased comedian Ron. And no, I have no respect for the man, nor his memory. He was a sad case, but that sympathy does not counter the damage this man has done to archaeology and history, and even critical thought in general. |

To be fair to archaeology, Ron Wyatt had no credentials at all in the field. He was a self-styled "investigator," but he had absolutely no education or position as an archaeologist and was thoroughly disavowed by virtually everyone legitimate in the field, including the IAA.

Ron Wiatt also claimed to have found the ark of the covenant, allegedly located below the same place Jesus is believed (by him) to ahve been crucified.
I'd love to see some of the stuff he found, but not encrusted by coral. I'm sure it would be revolutionary. |

There was some earlier reference to this link. . .
www.tentmaker.org/WAR/ As a "sleptic" I always wondered why the Sea of Reeds didn't have a better publicist. |

S-M, Ron Wyatt was no hero when alive and isn't one dead. Educate yourself about Wyatt and his claims, and you won't be likely to appeal to his "finds" again as any evidence supporting biblical claims.
Here's what Answers In Genesis says about Wyatt: A lack of integrity causes great damage to the Christian cause, especially when people are ‘immunized’ against the Gospel upon discovery that such claims are false. Believers need to be wary of rumors and claims without evidence. There are many Bible-believing scientists and archeologists who would love to help verify finds of this nature, if they were genuine. We are commanded to ‘prove all things’ (1 Thessalonians 5:21). You can read more about Wyatt's false claims here and find links to articles where Christians have denounced Wyatt's false claims, which include finding, in addition to those already mentioned in this thread, Sodom and Gomorrah, Joseph's grain pits, the actual blood of Jesus Christ, and the stone tablets given to Moses with ten commandments written on them. |
