Is the notion that a virgin can give birth or that water can be turned to wine or that the dead can be resurrected, sensible?

Impossible.

This I will agree with. You left out "political alterations", though.

This is an unfounded assertion. Personal opinion has no bearing on fact.

Jesus tells us to do these things:
• Abandon all your Earthly ambitions.
• Forsake your Earthly family and give your loyalty to God and your fellow believers.
• Sell everything you own and use the money to do good works.
• Avoid receiving any Earthly reward for your good works.
• Follow the Mosaic Law, both the letter and the spirit of it.
• Abstain from all sin, inside and out;
• Abstain from covetousness
• Abstain from anger
• Abstain from lust.
• Abstain from adultery.
• Do WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO to abstain from lust.
• Practice strict nonviolent pacifism.
• Do not resist evil.
• Do not strike back.
• Do good to those who hate you.
• Practice mercy and forgiveness and peacemaking.
• Do not judge others; Judgment Day will come soon enough.
• Seek to purify your own character, strive to "be perfect, even as your father in Heaven is perfect."
• Over-fulfill the Law seeking to follow the spirit of it as well as the letter.
• Practice forgiveness, mercy, reconciliation, and peacemaking.
• Kill those that do not believe.
• Abstain from swearing false oaths.

Are you doing them?

Not all. I will fall short of the glory of God. We all will.

That's OK, since your god falls short of the glory of me.

What's interesting about Gawen's list, is that God himself violates most all of them in the OT.

Yup.

The ability to come up with cogent arguments would be good.

Getting a limb restored by the power of prayer to an amputee would be better.

Praying for god to tell you, and then for you to tell me, the title of the top left hand book on my bookcase would be interesting, too.

David B (Believed he was getting all you describe when he was a transcendental meditationist)

Fine, so do I to a degree (some of the books anyway), but I don't consider it history texts in the same vein as modern history texts, nor do it I consider it inerrant, or the work of a god. You seem to put a higher relevance on it than other ancient texts. Why?

Supposing we were created, what makes you think the Bible records anything even remotely accurate regarding that creation. How do you know the Indian Vedas aren't right, or the Egyptian pyramid texts, or the teaching of the INcas, etc.? You said you seek truth, so it isn't enough to simply describe what you believe. You have to describe why you believe it. ...to yourself at least, if not to me.

I don't think you have a good grasp of what Revelation means by 'antichrist'. If this has something to do with your position, you owe it to yourself, as a fellow truth seeker, to learn more about it. With a modest investment in understanding second century greek culture, some appreciation for who the audience was for Revelation, and a decent translation of Revelation, you can easily figure out for yourself what the antichrist symbolizes.

Beliefs are fine and all, but what matters is why do you believe it. If you seek the truth as you claim, you can not proceed without questioning the basis of your positions. If you skip that step, you are not a truth seeker, but merely a seeker of anything that reinforces your preconceptions.

Is the notion that a virgin can give birth impossible? Think about it. It is possible.

Yes, but if you doubted Alexander was really Zeus' son, you didn't say it to his face.
