Sorry about the abuse of your innocence by some christians when you were 2.5 years old, however that hatred need not be generalized towards ALL christians.

Only those Christians that support conversion of children. Or evangelization to children.

I hope it will become forbidden to evangelize to children under 18 sooner or later.

Witches do exist however they must be allowed the freedom to practice their religion (as long as they obey the laws).
That's an interesting cafeteria Christian belief.

How many witnesses are required to show that an old woman is a witch who breaks the law by putting a curse on her neighbor (the one who covets her land)? :constern01:

I dont know, however there were probably many false witnesses who claimed young girls, old women, men of various ages, etc, were witches which resulted in their execution. However it is rather simplistic to argue their was a single direct cause and effect between a bible verse and these executions. For example, possible variables were greed (for the accussed posessions), group-think, ignorance of various medical conditions (schizophrenia, various diseases, etc), and ignorance of NT teachings (ye without sin cast first stone, love your enemies, etc).

arnoldo: There are no witches. All of the witnesses were false witnesses (either liars, or deluded, or, as has been speculated, victims of ergotism from consuiming a naturally occurring substance on moldy rye.)

A legal system that allowed accusations of witchcraft and called for the death penalty for witches, because that's what the Bible says, allowed these atrocities to happen.

I'm sorry that you were abused as a youngster. No one should be forced to believe in any religion. I believe in Jesus, and personally, I would never force my religion on anyone, child or adult.

There were "witches" who choose to practice a form of pagan religion rather than the established religion of the time. However most of the so-called witches probably weren't practicing any pagan religion and were falsely accused for various motives. Again, it's rather simplistic to state a bible verse is responsible for these atrocities. For example people seeking power would misrepresent the bible teachings as an excuse to control the people through fear. If the population at the time was largely illiterate they wouldn't have the means to read the entire bible to realize their mistake (possible based on a mistranslation: see post #15)

Yes, that's too bad millions of Christians do not see Christianity the same way I do. I don't believe in forcing religion on anyone. I won't come knocking on your door preaching to you. :Cheeky:
