There's a big logical problem here. Either it is the case in the hypothetical that Han Solo et al. are independent people in a real world, or it is the case that they are characters in a movie.

If, in they hypothetical, it's the case in the that they're independent people, then it is false that they are in fact in a world that was created by George Lucas; the world is in fact billions of years old.

If, in the hypothetical, it's the case that they are in fact characters in a movie, then they have no rational processes; they cannot rationally believe anything. Characters in a movie are not sentient beings.

I believe in Breakfast of Champions, Kurt Vonnegut actually does write himself into the novel and converses with the characters. It's quite amusing.

I’m surprised that this hasn’t spun off into a freewill/predestination discussion yet. Maybe we’re only images of actors following the infinite scrip of the creator.
God (or something) I hope not! :Cheeky:

How can a fantasy world in which the laws of physics are routinely violated be seriously used as an apolgetical device to support the claim that God (or Mr. L) really exists?
Well, seeing that It's Georges Universe, It would be up to him to establish the Law of Physics in that realm. They don't necessarily have to be the same as Our Laws of Physics.

While I was at work, It occurred to me that another common Atheist arguement applies...

Look at how Cruel and Horrid the Tyrant Lucas is, He destroyes entire populated planets, he created a galactic Evil Empire, not to mention Sith Lords. There is so much warfare, suffering, etc...

George Lucas is a Bad, Bad, Bad man.

At least he's not perfect. We can be absolutely sure that he isn't omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent towards his creatures.

Agreed. Atheists don't use the Epicurean Riddle against God in general, just against the belief in an all-powerful, all-loving God.

As such, Zoroastrianism or similar has a higher chance of being true.

Agreed. I think that is why I am having a little trouble seeing where the real point is in this hypothetical scenario. What does it really have to do with real apologetics?

Well it seems fairly obvious that if you can prove that there is a god of a fictional universe, there must be a god of a real universe. There's probably a way to work in quantum mechanics into all of this, too. This should definitely get forwarded to Dr. William Lane Craig.

If so, it seem this might be a variant on the ontological argument.
