Default The Root Cause of Middle East Problems

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/3686668.stm

'On the eve of Yom Kippur, orthodox Jews in Jerusalem swing chickens above their heads to absorb the previous year's sins.'

That is on page 6.

It does explain why they wear those hats though. The chickens must be very frightened, and all that hair would be hard to clean on a day you are not allowed to work

Hell, it doesn't stop with chickens. Apparently, they have to kill one goat then shove another one off of a cliff. Oh, and the chicken doesn't make it either.

Is there a religious discussion component to this? Cause I'm seeing ~Elsewhere~.

Just because it's crazy, Cynthia, doesn't mean it isn't religious. Now put on this hard hat. We don't want any God goats bopping you. :Cheeky:

I think the point is that the root cause of the middle east problems is that religious people are insane.

Default Mod Hat

To save Cynthia the humiliation of wearing the hat and goat-bopping, I'll move this to 'Elsewhere' for her.

Honestly the root problem of the middle east dates to prehistory, IMO. The various tribes and ethnic groups there have been at each other since the "Dawn of Man." I think the worst problem today is that they don't want to stop.
