I was looking for reviews of Dan Barker's "Losing Faith in Faith" and came across this site:
I started to read the content there, and was immediately struck with the profound realization that the author is a sanctimonious jerk. Except I didn't think of the word "jerk". I'm using that term here so as not to be obscene, I mean, I wouldn't want to come right out and say the guy's a sactimonious prick, now, would I? I suppose I shouldn't even consider it ironic that the atheist's (Dan's) arguments are fact-based, rational, and impersonal, while this particular "christian's" arguments are completely riddled with personal attacks. Here are a few quotes: "Barker's squalling 'village atheism'" "most of what Barker brings up is 'old hat.'" "That he childishly thinks that the "who caused God" reply is sufficient to the First Cause argument for theism tells us how far behind the philosophical eight-ball he actually is!" "I find myself more persuaded than ever that the rejection/renunciation of Christian faith is never the result of forthright intellectual doubts." That's just from an introductory paragraph. Amazing. And sad at the same time. In fact I think it even makes me angry. |

If you are really bored, do a google search under names like Farrell Till and JP Holding. II has some good information on JP Holding aka Robert Turkel aka the guy who runs Tektonics, here's a good starting point:
