In my post #6, I should perhaps have mentioned that the Elisha story is in 2Kings 2:23-25. There were 42 kids killed, according to the story book.

I agree. The Emperor Julian found himself in a bad position. Christianity had already started growning like a cancer and it would take a radical surgical step to eradicate it. He was well on his way to getting rid of that cancer when he foolishly went to war with the Parthians and was killed. A sad day for the world, but a happy one for Christians who then took off where they left off and have been running every since. If I ever invent a time machine, I am going to go back and warn Julian not to take up that foolish war so he can get back to what is important and fixing the Empire and rescuing it from the Christians.
