Yeah, let him post. Maybe we’ll deconvert him one day. He doesn’t show dents here, but he did make one hell of a whine on RR on how doubts were coming creeping in, ’specially about YEC.
Aww, /hugs HD (I think), but don't count on ever deconverting me. I've had doubts about YEC since the beginning, so this board hasn't really done much. And I have no doubts about any of the miracles in the Bible (even Exodus and the 12 plagues of Egypt/Red Sea parting). The only thing i'd ever conceivably change is my interpretation of Genesis, although don't even count on that. As for God, Jesus, miracles, Revelation etc - won't be giving them up.

a.k.a. <covers ears> La! la! la! I'm not listening! La! la! la! I'd rather live in a fundie Southern Baptist fantasy than face the real world! La! la! la! Jerry Falwell is my hero!

Come on, Magus55, surely you, by virtue of your self-proclaimed university education, can see that a mythology is a mythology is a mythology.

No, sorry - impossible for me to deny God. He has made himself too real to me to conclude He is a myth. In order for me to deny God, i'd have to deny my own existence.

Nah, you'd just have to learn that every single piece of evidence you think supports God is better explained with recourse to human psychology, mundane events and other things.

Nah, i've taken psychology and it didn't disprove God in the least.

I didn't say it would disprove anything. What psychology demonstrates is that many of your reasons for belief will be fallacious.

Nope, it didn't do that either, sorry.

Your psychology course must have been terribly watered down, then. If you didn't even learn about the principles like retroactive shoehorning that make you accept Bible prophecy as a valid argument (when it isn't), for example, just what did you learn?

I bet he learned how to exhibit cognitive dissonance while simultaneously denying it.
