In the Bible, right after someone dies, right after, what happens? I have heard many different things.
1.) We immediately go to our destination, heaven or hell. 2.) We "soul sleep" until Judgement Day. 3.) We all get judged right after we die. 4.) Judgement Day is the day we get judged. I believe in the "soul sleep" scenerio, because of two things, on two seperate occasions, Jesus raised people from the dead, Lazerus and the child. Where was Lazarus' soul? If Laz was in heaven, would not he be mad at Jesus for sending him back? If Laz was in hell, why would Jesus bring him back? That would make Lazarus the luckiest soul in the history of the Universe. Either way Laz would be talking all the time about either Heaven or hell and this would be documented, right? The Bible also speaks of meeting God in the clouds when the trumet blows during the End Times. People will depart from their tombs and fly to heaven (verse? Revelations?) They would not do this if they were at their destination. Then, in the Book of Kings, is the story of the spirit (ghost) of the prophet Samuel coming to King Saul in the witches house to tell him that God is highly pissed off at him (I should be a minister), and he and his sons were to die in battle the next day. Now, Samuel was not sleeping, he was a messenger from God himself. Sam's soul wont fly to heaven on Judgement Day, he is at his destination already. So, after we die, what happens (easy question) SENOR |

Well, there is no testament unless the testator died and lived to tell you about it. (Hebrews 10-17 and Romans 8:9-10).

Since mind-brain dependence and the split-brain experiment, among other things, establish no souls exist beyond a reasonable doubt, Christians will have the same fate as everyone else.

Well, the problem with "soul" is that it is so shakily defined as to make any real discussion of it without a clear definition meaningless.
Certainly nobody can deny the existance of something that isn't defined well. I define a "soul" to be an apple. Therefore, souls exist. |

Our soul is that part of us that we do not know so now please tell me how we should have a discussion about it. It is when we know the depth width and breadth of the Lord OUR God that we know ourselves and once we know our own self there is no soul left to know (the [celestial] sea was no longer Rev. 21:1). |

According to the torah the soul does die
Ezekiel 18:4 For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son-both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die. So the jews believe the torah and do not believe the NT or jesus. The NT soul is just from the religion that jesus started Christianity the worship of a dead man. |

If we "sleep in the grave until Jesus returns" (as some denominations teach), then what about the criminal who was crucified next to Jesus? Didn't Jesus tell him that he would be in paradise very soon? Not that I actually believe in this stuff, I'm just curious about what others believe.
