First one — weather balloon.

The second one is from a Sci-Fi Channel promo; definitely fake. It must have been a slow news day.

They look to me like images that do not show enough detail to determine what they are. Not mysterious just too little information.

Could you explain to me something I have always wondered about? Why is it that some people will accept an explanation of an intersteller craft piloted by extra-terrestrial beings as being more believable than an explanation that there is not enough detail to tell exactly what it is but that if there were more detail it would most likely be recognized as something quite common?
