I assume the Bad Catholic Church uses Pig Latin for the Assmay, right?

Sparklecat: They are normally quite dogmatic about the icon representing religious beliefs, rather than cultural practices. However, as long as you're not "pretending to be Christian", they probably don't really care, so you might be allowed. You do have to ask someone to change it for you these days, though.

It would be rather amusing if they were more strict in who could represent themselves as a Jew than actual Jewish law.

Thanks (((CAT)))

Thing 1 has been pretty upset, but he's been up front about his feelings and thoughts. Thing 2 on the other hand, is all angry and depressed about global warming. I'm a little worried about both of them. There will be daily reminders of their loss for the rest of the year, and it will take a while for the immediacy to fade. I'm worried about Dannie's sister. The family was driving up for a visit with her at the university.

Tragedy all round at the moment - my job share partner has just visited and informed me one of the nurses we both know in the neighbouring team to ours died suddenly at the weekend, 50s, just remarried, presumed suicide.

No one expected it or can work out why...

Heh. Seebs, a link to one of your blog entries about CF is sufficient cause for a quick "Closed For Review" in the support forums.

raven, I didn't read the link, because I usually get really depressed about such things. But I suspect there was a bad car accident.....

(((hugs))) to Thing1 & Thing2 and all the family & loved ones.

When I was in 5th grade, we had the cutest twin boys in our class. Their mom was our homeroom mother, a really nice lady. Their dad owned the local jewelry store, Bringles Jewelry.

They went on a trip to another state, but they never made it. They all died in a terrible car crash. I remember the local newspaper put all of their pictures on the front page, with a big headline saying the entire Bringle family was dead. There were 5 of them in the car, mom & dad & 3 kids. I didn't know the other child.

It was very difficult for me to go to school after that, and I'm sure it was difficult for everyone. I didn't understand death very well, so I kept thinking they would come back to school one day. Now that I think of it, I think that was the first time in my life I had ever known anyone who had died. So it was a "life lesson" for me.
