Man, I am far too busy trying to save my own ass from the fires of hell to worry about yours.
So you don't care if I go to hell? I am just feeling the love.

The greatest commandment is to love, and that is left open to interpretation how people show love.

It is evident from comments that evangelists can be equated to pushy insurance, or double glazing salesmen.

The only time you want to see one of these salesmen is if you need one of their products, but you don’t want them to try and push loads of extra stuff on you that you don’t want.

At some point in some people’s lives they do actually have a need to turn to God, this has to be done willingly and freely from their own needs.

I feel that evangelisation can only work if that person needs to be evangelised at that time.

I believe it is fine to let other people know I am a Catholic, if there is an adverse reaction I drop the subject. I have known people come back at some later time even a year or two later and bring up the subject themselves.

It seems very strange how conversion or deconversion works, it seems to chance on some odd remark that makes us think. :bulb:

Peace

Eric

THE PSYCHOPATHOLOGY OF CHRISTIANITY
By New10.

It is well known that most people hold themselves up to a way of thinking that is a guarantee to be pathogenic. Holding ones self to absolutist thinking and behavior as demanded in the bible re-enforces ones failure to meet these absolute ideals. Absolute words are ought, should, always, should, never and must. The language of the bible deals in absolutes. Absolutes mean one is destined for failure. Absolutes are harsh and unforgiving. When we use absolute language or demand absolute behavior for others and ourselves we demand the impossible and yet this is what the Gods of the bibles demands.
The idea that the God of the Jews and the God of the Christians loves everyone is a man made idea, I don’t think it says anywhere in the bible that “I God Jesus or I God Jehovah loves the people I created? In fact he hated those he created by drowning them.
The absolutes that I ought, should, always and must love God and He ought, should, always and must love me even though I suffer in agony is insane.
