I haven't read the whole of this thread and I would estimate that a good 30 people have said what I am about to say but: can you prove that *i* am not the daughter of God .. God incarnate? Let's just say that I say that I am, and I produce a cpl people who conveniently can't be contacted or hooked up to lie detectors to swear that they saw me walk on water. You wanna worship me?

The burden of proof is on the person making the outlandish claim. Surely even most Christians recognise THAT one.

Such a great line, :devil3: but I thought you was a bloke. No offence, like.

I think Jesus was just naive, I mean, he blatently failed to appreciate that it's the christians who are the problem.

LOL no am female. I keep having to explain this to people .. my bad for a wrong choice of nick .

I think Jesus failed to appreciate that what he was doing was setting off 2000 years of religious strife by converting a FEW people, and leaving the rest. His bad.

He didn't even do that, intentionally. Take this syllogism

Jesus claimed to be the son of God
Jesus said to worship God, not Him
Jesus didn't want people to change their God
The disciples fucked off and did it anyway
The disciples started christianity

iirc Job had a bit of prompting before he started thinking for himself

Actually I was thinking about the disciples earlier .. they were a pretty useless bunch, were'nt they? I mean, APPARENTLY they saw a man walk on water and turn water into wine, but at the first opportunity one of them sold him out, one of them denied knowing him and one of them had to put his fingers into his (Jesus's) wounds before he would believe that he was really who he said he was. Great bunch of guys .. well chosen!

They explained that in the lost Apocalypse of Simeon's conjoined foetus

Peter: And you are?

God: Jesus, Agent Jesus!

Peter: You all look the same to me

So of course they've got to check in case of mistaken identity.

Failures for a different reason. If you are an eyewitness to a man doing miracles, then please write down all the details ... volumes of details.

Then make multiple, 100s of copies, dedicate your entire life to making copies. Bury those copies in many different lands so that centuries later someone will dig up an original copy. * sigh *

Dammit, Gawen. I just corrected Queen of Swords that I'm a "she."

*sigh*

Maybe I could have saved myself the trouble if I registered as "annatechnie"; God is clearly punishing me for being lazy.

A man is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. So why do you jduge a man when you can't prove he's guilty? You don't do this to Buddha or Rhama Krishna yet you do this to someone who gave his life so that you don't have to feel guilty any more! Why do you have such a desire to do these things to Jesus? What did he ever do to you to treat him this way, especially if you believe he's only a fairy tale!?Do you believe in Zeus? If not, do you mock the followers of Zeus?
I don't know who wrote this...but if you and I aren't in total agreement, then nobody is. My compliments to you for telling it like it is.
