But the question is, do you want to be productive ?

Let's turn it around: imagine you're on some Christian board, and someone blazes at you,
All atheists are immoral ! Don't you dare try pretending otherwise, Atheist !

Now, if your user name happens to be anything other than "Atheist", you're not likely to feel that you really want to talk to the person in question; you're more likely to feel that that person simply has you pegged as a Member Of The Enemy.
Is anything that that person says likely to convince you ?
Not half.

That's why a modiucm of courtesy is more than advisable; that's why addressing HelenM by her user name rather than by a label is far more likely to be productive in the long run.
And this board does theoretically exist for atheists to talk to each other and to talk to believers.
