Huh?

Other than not understanding how to make proper Amazon links, I'm making an effort to provide interesting links on the academic issues involved. The author is an expert on the dead sea scrolls and in no way anti Israel, but hopefully that goes without saying.

It is not suitable behavior to make these unfounded criticisms.

My grandfather had the good sense to move from Russia/Poland to Palestine after WW1. I don't have an issue with that name, in fact the story would be less pleasing without it.

Don't worry about Amazon links. You'll get the hang of it.

The unreliable wikipedia thinks that Palestinian archaeology is a standard term.

Syro-Palestinian archaeology is a term used to refer to archaeological research conducted in the southern Levant. Palestinian archaeology is also commonly used in its stead,[1][2] particularly when the area of inquiry centers on ancient Palestine.[

Joseph, I would suggest reading the standard popular text on the subject: The Bible Unearthed (or via: amazon.co.uk) by Finkelstein and Silberman; presumably with names like that they are not anti-Israel.

It's my opinion/hope that rational analysis of the Bible and History is the next step in Judaism.

This isn't discarding anything, but building on it.

My rabbi has said that the Bible is incomprehensible without the Talmud. Biblical/Jewish studies includes the Talmud and offers a framework to form rational views of what happened in the past.
