It's a religion? If it is, it is one that has actual evidence and doesn't believe in some invisible overlord creating and controlling. If we can all come up with a definition of religion that encapsulates this, then yes, evolution is that kind of religion. Would you like that as a homework project?
Why a who? How about a what? And, in any case, when? There was no when, where, who or what "before" the Big Bang. Got any mechanisms?

Psss (whisper) : Atheism is not a religion. But don't tell anyone. It's a secret.
Except intelligent people, nobody knows this.
What did you want to go and do that for? Don't start confusing the issue with actual facts. That will never derail TBT's train of mysterious unfathomable logic. :Cheeky:

Default To: The Bible Thumper

Have you called yourself that because the only way you can get the truth out of it is by beating the living shit out of it?

Just wondering.

Can 'bible thumper' have an alternative meaning along the lines of 'palm pilot'?

It was me. I did it all.

A question with so little sense deserves a like answer.

Who created the 'Big Bang'?
Gnostic answer:

Jehovah.

But then what created Jehovah?

Sophia.

And from Her, all things have hence come.

If you even question this, you are denying your Adamatic spirit and are thus doomed to never have eternal life. Please, don't confuse the Demiurge with some benevolent power. It is not but suffering. Only through Christ shall you be returned into the eternal. But first you must put aside this childish god you call creator...He is not. Open your soul to life and love, not matter and death or fall again to the Earth and materials of life to which you so cling.

Or....

Its an oscillating universe, in which case, the Big Bang was merely a single event in the course between the universe expanding and the universe contracting. The cause was the eternal replay of the universe going *fooom*.

It seems to me we can all have meaningfull productive lives without ever knowing the answer to this.
No, this really needs to be answered.

If the universe collapses unto itself at some point in the future, as some predict, we are going to need to know how to escape to another universe, right. Oh wait a second, the sun is going to burn out in a few billion years so I guess we need to figure out how to move humanity to another solar system, as soon as possible. :Cheeky:
