Excuse? No excuses. I have received exactly what I expected here. I expected pretty much monolithic opposition to my views, no matter what my arguments are ... and that's exactly what I got. Not that it matters, but when dave resorts to preaching is usually when he's so hopelessly cornered, that he realises he has nothing else to say that wouldn't damage his position either way. This is when all the "you'll recant on your deathbeds, when you DIE a DEADLY DEATH" kick in.

It's about the same time when he tries to start another thread on a different subject, to draw attention away from that one. Sometimes more than one.

Oh wait- we're already there!

His post was reported. Of course, this means that all of Dave's posts now must be considered preaching. We have known this for some time, but it is good that Dave has finally admitted that this isn't about science - since he hasn't presented any.

Threats of hell-fire and damnation are really quite stupid on an atheist's forum, Dave. You should save such cheap shots for those who will be impressed. I'm disappointed: I did honestly think you were smarter than you're presenting yourself right now.

This is absolutely grim. The thread is going absolutely nowhere and I don't know why it's still open. Dave should have been banned by now for:

Preaching;
Libelling scientists (in particular, if there is any geologist/palaeontologist/biologist etc etc who posts here, and I'm sure there is, he has personally called YOU a liar);
Never, ever supporting any of his statements.

Furthermore, I think he should have been defaulted from the debate after 2 or at most 3 posts for not answering CM's questions. I think that is a failure of moderation.

If we want a thread about how millions of scientists all over the world are engaged in a secret conspiracy to nix the Bible, then let's have a thread about it. I don't think this is the place. It's a classic piece of Dave changing the subject.

Roland, the thread is being left open precisely for the purpose of exposing Dave's avoidance of the issues. I think the mods are adopting the approach of giving him enough rope to hang himself with, and will take action when he's well and truly hung himself. The fact that many of us think he's already done that is an aside for the moment - the mods are waiting for substantive evidence of the hanging.

Once that appears, of course, Dave's well and truly stuffed, basted and shoved into the oven with all the trimmings.

Dave's shortcomings are obvious to all ;-)
Must be the opposite of the pinochio effect -- for every lie, every libel, every slander, "something" shrinks...
