But, there is a real serious problem.

The Church implied and wrote that the author of gJohn was a disciple of Jesus.

How was it possible that John, the supposed disciple of Jesus, could not explain how he himself was following a character called Jesus of Nazareth when he knew that Jesus was to be from Bethlehem?

There is no prophecy for Jesus of Nazareth. There is no prophecy for a ruler from Nazareth in the entire OT or books of the prophet.

So, as early as the writing of gJohn, people started to realize that Jesus of Nazareth may be an impostor, a fraud, fiction or a con-man.

John 7.42-44
Quote:
42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
Yes indeed. That is exactly what is found in Micah 5.2.

John 7.43-44
Quote:

43 So there was a division among the people because of him.

44 And some of them would have taken him, but no man laid hands on him.
It would appear that Jesus of Nazareth was a fiction story or, far worse if he did live, was an impostor.
