A jury just rejected the claim by scammers that God ordered them to perform this swindle. Interesting story, somewhat related to the Nigerian 411 scam. What I find interesting is that when people expressed skepticism and demanded evidence they simply quoted scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.�? And that was good enough; people continued to send money.

Is that all it takes to get people to give you money? Claim that it is god's will?
