I don't see what is so controversial or difficult to understand about what the dollar is saying. I could be wrong but i think that all he is saying is that by use of the scientific method we have created many technologies that are destructive to the environment, and also to human life and may eventually lead to extinction - for example nuclear bombs, cars and motor engines and things like that which have partially caused global warming. Without using the scientific method it is unlikely these things would have been created. So there is a bad side to science and technology - even though science clearly is not the only cause of global warming and nuclear bombs.
I really don't see why so many people are angry about him saying that - it seems obvious to me. Although i don't agree that it is possible or sensible to do away with science. |
