On Emma Goldman. One of the first women I ever dated in university was a Corsican anarchist who was bisexual I think. God, that was depressing. She wasn't very attractive (all I remember was a lot of body hair - arms, sideburns sort of) but I wasn't that experienced so I think I was willing to take anyone who had have me. I think I learned from that experience that all human relationships were like the stock market. Everyone wants to find someone or something better than themselves. In any event she was always telling me that appearance shouldn't matter (she wasn't very attractive) and in the end I think the only reason she liked me was figured I was more naive and better looking (sorry but it was true, false modesty is among the most annoying human traits). Vowed to only date women more attractive than myself. Led to me having profoundly less dates.
