Chris,

You only have proven what I already knew, that Pilate did not speak Medieval Latin but the Language which is spoken in the Ancient Capital of the Roman Empire: - [in case you still don't get it] - the Ancient Roman language remained the same Language which in these days is called Italian.

Where do you think the Italian language came from, if not from the Capital of the Roman Empire?

Certainly not from some Medieval Latin-theories which are worth a good laugh and of course will remain anonymous!

Hello Crazy Diamond,

You're absolutely right. Pilate did not speak Medieval Latin. He also did not speak NeoLatin either.

So as you know, "sus" in Ancient Latin meant "pig". Also, IE did dnot mean "here is" in Ancient Latin. The Romans abbreviated heavily, but they did not use "id est" as one of them. Furthermore, you betray your own knowledge. Id est does not mean "here is" and it never did. It meant "it is". Furthermore, you don't find a superfluous use of "is, ea, id" until late Latin. Classical authors rarely used pronouns so much. Finally, Pilate wrote in three language - Latin, Greek, and Hebrew, and neither of them say "here is".

You are dead wrong.

The swine interpretation which says that Pilate would have written the word "pig" only can be proven through a Medieval Latin, and not through the Roman Language.

Who ever uses deduction and discernment on the Scriptural texts will figure out that Pilate does not write "pig" on the plaque of a just man.

And who ever applies knowledge rather than beliefs, will figure out that Pilate does not write the false name "jesus" = the falseness that proceeded from the ordinations that were left to the Roman church and Roman Catholicism.

The word Id sometimes holds the meaning of Idem = the same

Est is the Latin root of the verb to be as well as it is the root of the words: estar[to be] estare.

Id Est = The same who is

suspended = above, up

FINAL CONCLUSION - ID EST SUS = The same who is above [or; the same who is suspended/above]

I.E.SUS

Nazarenus

Rex

Iudaeorum

You emphazised excessively the word "here", as if you did not know that the word "here" was not presented as a definition of id est, neither a definition of id, not even a definition of est, but simply as a complement of an interpretation. If one says "Id/Idem" he does not need to say "here", because both can be interpreted as "the same who is being presented" or "the same who is here", soon, the word "here" is not a synonym but part of an interpretation.

How did I know he wasn't going to admit his failure and give up?

Hello Weltall,

could you please elaborate the question..
If you're referring to Pilate, it was not a question of "to give up" nor to go on, but simply "not to get involved".

What makes people think that Pilate gave in is that in front of him there was the High Priest and the chief priests, all of them determined to fulfill the Sanhedrin’s authority.

What would you do if you were Pilate and;

On one side, you have the High Priest being more stubborn than a goat along with the chief priests. All of them asking for you to make their will.

Asking you not to OBSTRUCT their DECISION that took place in Sanhedrin
In other words, asking you to not get involved.

And on the other side your wife is saying almost the same thing: …Don’t get involved. To have nothing to do with that just man.

The Final Conclusion - THE FACTS - At the very end 1. Pilate does not go against the will of the High Priest. - 2. Pilate does not get involved with the cause of that just man, and 3. he was never asked to preside over a trial.

Quote:
bestiae obscurae – The lamb was indicted by Roman laws.
COMPLETENESS – Pilate’s words remained the same: “I find no basis for a charge against him.”

bestiae obscurae – Pilate presided at a trial.
COMPLETENESS – A second trial would invalidate the authority of the High Priest and of the Sanhedrin before the eyes of the Hebrew people, and would violate the Law that attests “One only Law shall be to him who is born at home, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you.” The fact of asking the lamb five questions doesn’t mean that Pilate held the intention of presiding at a trial. A second trial by the invader’s laws was not what the High Priest asked Pilate to do.

bestiae obscurae – The lamb was held prisoner inside the Praetorium.
COMPLETENESS – The lamb was not Pilate’s prisoner; the Praetorium was the headquarters of a military unit, not a trial Court.

bestiae obscurae – Pilate had the lamb crucified.
COMPLETENESS – He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jeh-óshua to their will: that he was suspended [his hands tied together above his head to a green Hebrew tree] according to the Law.

bestiae obscurae – Pilate gave in because he was concerned about revolt and conveyed the death sentence.
COMPLETENESS – His wife sent to him, saying: Have thou nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

bestiae obscurae – The High Priest asked Pilate to have the lamb nailed to a cross.
COMPLETENESS – The High Priests’ words remained the same: “We have a Law and he shall die according to our Law; because he made himself the Holy One [I AM] the Anointed of Ishrael.” The word ‘cross’ does not exist in the books of the Law and of the Prophets, and of the Psalms. The Roman cross was the symbol of the roman occupancy and had the shape of a roman sword. To the Hebrew people and the High Priest the Roman cross represented Ishrael’s subjection and humiliation before the invader, the Roman empire.

bestiae obscurae – The Hebrew trial by the Sanhedrin was completely illegal.
COMPLETENESS – These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things would be fulfilled in me, which are written in the books of the Law and of the Psalms, and of the Prophets.

I was refering to the fact that your ass was handed to you regarding your (in)ability to read Latin or understand anything about linguistics in general. I correctly predicted that you were incapable of admitting that you've lost.

This thread was started with the purpose of discussing FACTS, Scriptural facts, not theories, not even anyone's ability in rejecting other members post plus the whole contents of the Scripture of the Truth.

There are only two valid solutions that are based on Scriptural facts, and the truth is only one:

mark with X on the correct valid solution:

[ ] that Pilate wrote the false name "jesus" on the plaque

[ ] that Pilate wrote the words I.E.SUS (Id Est Suspended) on the plaque

or mark on no one of the above:

[ ] no one of the above
