What if we lived in some bizarro world though, where Hitler had the second largest following on Earth and folks actually did go ape shit when he was cartooned, lampooned or made fun of? Oh, we DO live in this bizarro world. Replace "Muhammed" with Hiltler. Is there much of a differance?

The difference is that people tend to accept idiocy when it's shown through the veil of religion. Riots and protests over cartoons is absurd. If the Hair Club for Men began protesting Lucy pulling away the football (and making the ever-bald Charlie Brown look bad), everyone would call them nuts.

Exactly. If Hitler were in power in the 700s he could have cncievable conquored all of Europe and developed a religion around himself. And al his horrible deeds would have been apologized for and a mythology of benevolence would have been created around him. Thats my point. Making of Muhammed is similar to making fun of Hitler. Only Muhammed has 1.3 billion religious followers. Under the same circumstances Hilter coulda done that.
