Default I am One of the Elect.

It occurs to me that all one needs to do to become one of the Elect is to shave an assertion of any possible trace of evidence until it is completely bald and then assert it is true. So for all you other "Elects" out there. I am just as "Elected" as you are.

Welcome to the Club,
how does it feel the first time you say that?
Odd isn't it?

That's nice.

However you lost it when you said, "....all one needs to do..."

One doesn't "do" anything, either you are or you aren't.

Please, no half measures here, go the whole hog and be proud to be a Justified Sinner as well. You get all the same benefits in the next world without denying yourself anything in this one.

It's a win/win situation.

I carry around my Get Out Of Hell Free card at all times, so I suppose that means that I'm one of the elect, too!

I already depend on it to save me any minor difficulties resulting from typical atheist activities, such as running a hit squad and selling heroin-laced candy to Christian schoolchildren. Perhaps I should branch out into selling weapons to terrorists, child prostitution, and even politics.

Well, maybe not politics. A man ought to have some standards.

Does anybody else here get as tired as I do about The Elect reminding the rest of us that they're "The Elect" and we (for whatever reason) are not?

I do wish "The Elect" (the Calvinist kind) would find another place to musk and leave their scent.

I respect your sentiment, sir, but I find I can not agree with you. Shooting down calvinist arguments provides good entertainment. Others here are much better at it than me and I really enjoy reading their posts.

I don't much know if it helps people like me or the calvinists out, but I have this idea that there might be lurkers hovering on the edge of decisions, and if a patient, kind, accurate exposition of the truth helps them make good decisions, I'm all for that.

Happy to have you posting here, btw.
