The author of gMark did NOT present his Jesus as a Savior to the Jews.

It is stated CLEARLY in gMark that "

1. Jesus did NOT want the Jews to be converted but REMAIN in Sin--Mark 4

2. Jesus did NOT want anyone to know he was Christ. Mark 8

3. gMark's Jesus the preached news of the Kingdom of God. Mark 1

4. gMark's Jesus came to fulfill the words of the PROPHETS.

5. The PROPHETS wrote NOTHING about the Blasphemy of Universal Salvation by the Sacrifice of a God.

gMark's Gospel, the Good News, was SIMPLY that the Kingdom of God was coming.

It was the author himself that gives the so-called Good News of the Coming of the Kingdom of God.

Up to today the GOOD NEWS of the author of gMark has NOT been realized.

The author of gMark was a FALSE prophet.

The author of gMark is really no different to Mr Camping who claimed Jesus would return on May 21 2011.

ALL are false prophets of Good NEWS about Jesus.

The arrogance and flippancy of sotto voce has mostly turned me off from associating myself with him, but Bingo fed him an opportunity to preach in Post #8 here, and I have to admit that I agree with what sotto voce said. Maybe I'm more of a standard Christian than I think I am.

Well if you agree with the following..

.
Quote:
So why was this particular good news? The death of Jesus, that had been foretold from Genesis onwards, was to be the death of the power of sin to exclude immortal souls from eternal happiness.
.Then its hard to imagine that you didnt consider your self some sort of standard christian.

If so, it didn't work.

Are things so desperate that we have to rip quotes out of context, and descend to ad hominem? This was what Jesus believed. That was his context, and obviously the context of his Jewish followers, and millions of Gentiles, also.

Now we either read here that the death of Jesus, that had been foretold from Genesis onwards, was to be the death of the power of sin to exclude immortal souls from eternal happiness, was not the perspective of Jesus, or we don't. And if we don't, we will suppose that posters have read the Bible and come to the very same conclusion they read in post #8.

Yes I understand that that is what you think the jesus of the gospels believed. I'm not here to try to change your beliefs even if I don't agree with what you imagine you see.

One can make the Jesus of the gospels say many things. The ideas you suggest came from later interpretations of what was written in the gospels. You imagine these ideas are actually there, but only because you look through later glasses.

Was ‘the gospel’ ever understood to mean the good news in Hosea 6:2?

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...-3&version=NIV

–That the Lord will bind up our wounds; that after two days he will revive us; that on the third day he will restore us?

The resurrection of Jesus confirmed, to the disciples, that he was Immanuel; it was for them good news (though they really should have fully expected it), but the evangelion is not, as some religionists assert, the resurrection of Jesus, but his crucifixion, that presumes resurrection. The actual word 'gospel' or 'good news' does not occur in Hos 6:2, but this verse has often been taken as prophecy of the resurrection.
