Do you not read or listen to anything I say? I have steadfastly refused to give out personal information because, quite frankly, the ad hominem crap I have gotten over the years from people like you is nothing short of disturbing, and I will not give any of you any opportunity to do mischief.

I have pointed out more than once here that Jeffrey Gibson, several years ago, looking for some baseball bat to use against Richard Carrier when he could not himself discredit Carrier's opinion of certain Greek passages, took the liberty of contacting one of Carrier's old professors at Columbia. When that professor refused to bite at Gibson's leading questions about Greek incompetency, Gibson twisted something the professor said--or rather, did not say--to make it out that he had a poor opinion of Carrier's proficiency, and broadcast that to the IIDB (predecessor of FRDB). Gibson was finally exposed, but never apologized.

As long as there are shitheads like him and Looney Rooney (a certifiable lunatic) and "honest" Gakusei Don around, I keep my personal info close to my chest. Besides, these days hackers can get into just about anything, and one piece of personal info can lead to another. Call it paranoia, if you wish, but the amount of rabid antagonism and vitriolic manure I have had thrown at me is enough to fuel a thousand paranoiacs.

Instead of obsessing over personal information or the legitimacy of my credentials, why not actually address my arguments and rebut them? Other than with your fallacious appeal to authority, that is.

And how the hell is Geomatics and Hydrographic Science supposed to qualify you to pontificate on a subject you clearly know nothing about? At least my B.A. in History and Classical Languages has direct relevance. No wonder your postings are mind-numbingly repetitive with the same old mantra.

You have got some chutzpah, Abe. This from a guy who has kept his identity secret for as long as he's been here. Half the posters on this forum keep their identities secret. And yet you taunt me for not revealing a personal bit of information. You want me to go out on a limb while you hide behind the tree. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you the University I got my degree from if you publicly reveal your name, and Gakusei Don reveals his, and the name of the latest Acharyaphobe (Mr. "Z"), and--what the hell--I always wanted to know who spin is. If all you guys will join me out on the limb, I'll be happy to give you my old Alma Mater. Hell, I'll even scan in a report on one of my years there which shows me with an overall A+ mark. (It was a B.A. "With Distinction".)

Otherwise, put a sock in it!

And if you've judged my arguments, it must mean that you are familiar with them (not my conclusions, my arguments!), and if you've come to a judgment, it must be because you have your own substantive rebuttals for those arguments. So why not share them with us? Why not challenge me on those arguments instead of parrotting your empty appeals to authority and your personal attacks on my integrity?

And if you ever intimate that I am a liar again, I'll petition the mods to have you ejected from this board. And while I have a right to defend myself on this free-wheeling internet, that's my last word on this subject.

No one else here is expected or pressured to use Toto as an intermediary to gather information to defend their integrity, and it is ungentlemanly of you to even suggest that Earl Doherty should be singled out for such to defend his character.
Earl freely gives his name. He is a known and published author. Engage the content of his arguments, instead of seeking for ways to besmirch his integrity.

What is it, Roo, looking for your latest 'quote' that you can twist and take out of context and post on Amazon like the weasel that you've shown yourself to be?
