Actually, Godless Wonder's link pretty much covers everything here. Talk about screwing with the gene pool though! 'Spread the genes apart', surely? But no. First we are all derived from two people, obviously involving a little bit of incest along the way. Then we're derived from 8 people, involving incest and sleeping with your parents (can't think of the word). I mean, say what you want about people in the south of the good old US of A (from what I hear, anyway), we're all pretty damn inbred already!

Oh yeah, I was aware that Genesis contradicts itself on the number of animals in the ark, but I'm reading it now (gen 6:19) and it doesn't say anything about only two of unclean animals until chapter 7. A fairly moot point really, since I don't believe a word of it anyway!

Would five animals really be enough food for a year long voyage though?

Nice to see there's other (perhaps intelligent) drummers around though!

Been in a band before. Once the base player came in to the bar with a real worried countenance. He said the drummer was locked in the car. The keyboard player says - so what's the problem?

"The keys are in there with him"

Do a google search on "The epic of Gilgamesh". You'll see that Noah and other OT stuff is copied from ancient sumerian/babylonian legends.

Presumably this would have taken six days plus the amount of time it took God to destroy it. I guess it was less tiresome for him to send a flood and he didn't feel like resting again...
Presumably though, he wouldn't need to recreate the entire universe, just the Earth and the things on it. Plus, if He's consciencious, He would recycle the materials He made in the first place! Just make them better (though if man was made in his own image, I wouldn't have thought that you could get any better! Still...). I can't imagine it taking more than a day. And He wouldn't really need to rest after that... unless He belongs to a good Union I suppose!

If anyone wants to talk music/bands/drummers doing really stupid things, I've started a new thread in the Lounge
