Who's more humble?
Who has more morals? Who is more tolerant? Who's more bigoted? Who's self righteous? |

I wish I could convince myself that angels were taking care of me and that a loving God was going to give me eternal life but I don't. With the up side of religion we must also remember that if you fall out of favor with your God you face a damnation beyond any horror you could have in your wildest nightmares. If people need the comfort of religion I can accept that, but as I read some of these debates I appreciate this site as it makes me so glad I can say no to religion. Having said that I would never try to convince anyone to reject their beliefs as each of us have different needs and any addictive personality has a need beyond their control. If religion can fill a void it is OK with me. I think we often fail to realise how helpful religious people are as they show us how we were of could be if we are not careful.
This one of the best sites I have read AND IT HAS MADE ME GLAD I am not sabed. Perhaps God is real in the eyes of the beholder and our minds cannot always sort out myths from reality and it seems that most people don't want that ability so they are dear, they are here and we just have to love them as they are. |

I regard it as a disease born of fear and as a source of untold misery to the human race.'" |

Faith is by its very nature dishonest. You cannot accept faith as valid without deceiving yourself.
