What one believes or does not believe does not make one a "good" person or a "bad" person, a charitable person or a non-charitable person. There's plenty of each of those in both camps.

FYI, I'm here because I'm an atheist, and this is one of the few places I can interact with other atheists, agnostics, etc. And, yes, express my thoughts and beliefs on religion and philosophy, including but not limited to Christianity and Atheism, and learn from others. Not to mention science and other areas of interest.

And yes, there are Christians that post here, and I feel free here to express my thoughts on what they say, claim, believe, etc. Something I don't often get a chance to do in the "real world". It's kinda fun, a good mental workout, and helps me in testing and refining my beliefs or lack thereof, philosophy, arguments, understanding, etc.

are you here to "shame" christians into doing even more than they already do?
Umm, who said that I was here to do that? It would seem to be just you...BTW, turn that around: are you here to "shame" atheists into doing more than they already do? Or just to boast about how Christians are far more charitable than atheists?

why do you fight christianity so hard?
Umm, who said that I do? It would seem to be just you...(and note from above that I'm married to a Christian, and attend church every week)...BTW, why do you fight atheism so hard (if indeed you do)?

of all the evils in the world you coulda/shoulda/would be fighting right now if you werent here bitching about christianity....that is????
Where here did I "bitch about Christianity"? I merely provided a personal anecdote in response to your assertion.

And turn this question around on yourself, why don't you? Are you here "bitching about atheism" when you should perhaps be out helping the "widows and orphans"? Are you doing the Lord's work here?

please explain logically???
You're not asking particularly logical questions of me, so they don't deserve much in the way of logical explanations.

Congratulations on a lucid defense of your viewpoint.

And, I thoroughly agree. An illogical diatribe deserves no logical answers.

I just have no urge to go to a Christian website and hurl imprecations at Christian beliefs. But, I guess some people just don't share my views in this matter.

I do. I don't have an urge to go to Christian websites and hurl imprecations at Christian beliefs either.

Now, when they come here and present their beliefs for my perusal...that's a different story.

That's a good question. Christians will probably respond, "It does matter a rat's ass," but I fail somewhat to see why. I think it should remain in just to help bolster deconversions.

I agree 100%.

To paraphrase somebody "In a world free of religion, good people would do good, and bad people would do bad. For a good person to do bad.. that takes religion."
