Default Theists: do you approve of and/or believe in hell?

Theists only, please...

I've got a little wager going with myself regarding belief in an actual-punishment hell (APH) where deliberate suffering is inflicted upon sinners, and all the other alternatives, inlcluding the standard Hell-Lite (tm), which consists merely of 'separation from god's love', or some such.

Let's see if it pans out...

(wait for the poll, folks)

It's a false dichotomy. "Separation from God's love" can be the actual punishment inflicted.

Hell is a real place, most assuredly, and it should be there because, hey if there wasn't where would Hitler be? Heaven? If you believe that there is one that shouldn't be there then where would people such as Stalin be? I think Hell to be an eternal place of pain and agony as well as complete seperation from God.

Revolutionary: You know the difference I mean, and I'm pretty sure everyone else does.

Happy-clappy vs. fire and brimstone.

They would be dead.

Then the devil called Yahweh that Christians worship should be there also. Inventing something so fiendish as hell is one hundred trillion times as evil as starting an extermination campaign, or slaughtering millions of people in the name of some fantasy called 'historical forces' or a perversion of Marxism.

Hitler ceased to exist in 1945. The answer is, he isn't anywhere. Wishing there was an eternal justice for people like Hitler and Stalin (I wish it too, believe me) doesn't make it so.

The problem with your hell is that God doesn't seem to discriminate between Hitler and say, a 17 year old Aborigine girl who refused to harm even a fly, but had the misfortune of never hearing of Christ, and got a disease and died young. According to your bible, her and Hitler are going to be tossed in the same Lake of Fire.

I'm sure he meant the difference between what we would call physical pain, such as fire, and a lesser type of hell, like a cool, dank musty cave or something, where people aren't tortured, but rather sit around and feel lonely.

No, there is no APH in the afterlife as we are living it right now.

I wanted to answer your poll but you didn't seem to have the option I would have liked to have seen

"There is an APH, but I wish there was not one".
