![]() Also I didn't know if perhaps you didn't recognize the phrase "Human intelligence" as a legitimate "category" of intel like some of the other ones I mentioned. I know them from my military days, but didn't want to assume that everyone was familiar with HUMINT as a phrase. Part of why I probably didn't find the headline all that clever was that my eye saw the phrase "Human Intelligence" in it's, well, "book" usage, and not the "play on words" that one could take from the headline as written. As far as my pro-Bush bias goes, why don't we look at my remarks taken in context rather than quote-mining me like some YEC, since clearly you don't "know me" yet, from my mere 14 posts on this board. You know, where I said, "However, I am a registered Republican and intend to vote for Bush in November for one reason: I feel he is more likely to prosecute an aggressive, proactive campaign against Islamic fundamentalists-- and in THEIR backyard instead of ours. Bush makes me absolutely crazy with his born-again righteousness and the domestic policy positions it leads him to, such as limitations on desperately-needed stem cell research." And, "I'm not only an atheist but support tighter gun control, gay rights (including their right to marry) and a woman's right to an abortion." And "I'm not deluded into thinking W. is the sharpest tool in the shed." And "With all his faults--and from where I sit I can see plenty-- he's still the man for the job I see as most important. The rest of the stuff I can grit my teeth on for four more years." That's all from that one post. In other words, you can spare me the armchair psychoanalysis that I can't laugh at a Bush joke purely because I'm such a die-hard fan of his. I can--and do--laugh at jokes that poke fun at Bush, or indeed, any President. They just have to be funny first. ![]() |
